The more one reads, the more he or she gets enriched with knowledge. To understand the culture, traditions and politics that prevailed in this land and in the vicinity around Nepal, one has to study books penned by different established writers.
Authentic books provide bona fide views upon which one can rely and later base his own conclusions.
At times these could be well used as a reference. This is what I will do in the following paragraphs.
The sources of knowledge are definitely the books. The more you go deep, the more you wish to be taught. The entire intention is to learn and benefit emotionally. If you share your gained understanding then it is most valuable part of the entire reading business.
I am in habit of reading various books these days penned by widely acclaimed writers. I am currently reading the history of this land and beyond what has been taken and known as ARYAVARTA.
Unfortunately, the Indian nationals, even the ruling elites and their paid marionettes, take ARYAVARTA as their private property and conclude that what is India today constituted the whole of ARYAVARTA of the bygone days and era to which it is not.
Aryavarta was a vast landmass.
ARYAVARTA literally means that it is a place or for that matter the territory wherein the ARYANS lived. This is what I can say with my modest knowledge gained so far.
The Aryans perhaps migrated from Central Asia.
Rishi Parsuram, the son of a Brahmin Maharishi Jamdagni, hailed originally from today’s Azerbaijan, so say the Indian writers of eminence.
During the course of such a reading, I came across with some thrilling revelations which I must share with my august readers as I did in the last issue wherein I wanted to prove that Saint Ved Vyas was the son of Nepali soil.
Satyavati was the great grand mom of the Pandavas and the Kauravas.
And Ved Vyas was the “father” of the rulers of Hastinapur.
Let me begin with Taxila-the old day capital of today’s Kandhar, Afghanistan.
Taxila at the moment is inside the Pakistani territory.
Taxila in those days, say some 2500 plus years ago, after Lord Buddha, was taken as one of the highest seat of learning at least in this part of the world wherein a Brahmin of sharp intellect used to be the teacher. The students came from the entire countries that were in the vicinity of Taxila. Ambhi Kumar, the crown prince of Gandhara, too was the student of Taxila school.
Acharya Bishnu Gupta was the most acclaimed teacher who was revered by the people near and far. Later this teacher was called CHANAKYA.
Chanakya was a great political thinker whose political spectrum and vision had no match in the contemporary world. He was concurrently a diplomat par excellence. Political scientists claim that Chanakya’s intellect far exceeded than what the people still think of Machiavelli-the great political thinker of the modern era from Europe.
Let me not stretch my story further as I believe that the more I write, I may get deviated from the main theme and may commit blunders.
We have heard much of Chandra Gupta who was the King of Magadh, now India’s Patna, and now India’s Bihar.
Later Chandra Gupta became emperor through the wise counsels of Chanakya who had trained Chandra Gupta in Taxila.
Hari Narayan Apte, an eminent Indian scholar in his book entitled “Chanakya and Chandra Gupta”, clearly mentions in his carefully written book that Chandra Gupta was the son of a KIRATI girl, Mura Devi.
He also mentions that Mura Devi hailed from the mountains wherein Kirats lived then and continue to live still.
We the Nepalese have to our fame the presence of Kirateshwar Mahadev (Lord Shiva) who hails, we have been told, from this area. It should be right in this area where Arjun, the great warrior of the Mahabharata era, was blessed by Lord Shiva in his KIRAT form.
Arjun was blessed right here by Nepali Lord Shiva. He was awarded Pashupatastra arrow by Nepal born Lord Shiva.
Nowhere KIRATS can be found other than the Nepali mountains located in the eastern part of this country-Nepal.
In my opinion, Mura Devi was a Nepali girl either from today’s Dhankuta, Terahthum, Ilam, Bhojpur, Okahaldhunga or from the mountains with mountains with dense forest adjoining the Tibetan borders.
Kirati population still has their strong presence in those Nepali districts.
It so happened that the Chief of the Magadh Army, BHRIGURAYAN invaded the Nepali land, then a small Kingdom, and abducted the KIRANTI Princess, MURA DEVI and presented her to the perusal of his King-Ghanananda, the then ruler of Magadh.
As the writer claims, the ruling monarch of the then Magadh, Ghananda, was a devilish ruler and also a round the clock drunkard. His main hobby was to play foul with the local juvenile and abducted girls from the neighborhood.
It is said that Chandra Gupta was King Ghanananda’s first son-would be heir apparent of the Magadh throne as per the Royal practice.
However, the other queens in the Palace played tricks against the Nepal’s Kirati lady, Mura, which ultimately forced her to land in prison.
The newly born babe of Mura, Chandra Gupta was carried to a dense forest and left under the mercy of the Almighty. He was saved.
This abandoned babe was later nourished by a local villager. Fortunately, the little babe had his Royal insignia still hanging around his neck.
The boy grew up over the years.
One fine morning, Chanakya-the great politician, during the course of his traveling from one place to the other, dropped at the same village and could see some typical qualities in the abandoned boy who had by now come of his age.
This does mean that Chanakya had visited Nepali mountains.
Saint Chanakya enquired of the boy from the old man and later found out the boy with extraordinary qualities was not the son of the old man but, the old man admitted that he had found this boy in a dense forest.
As a veteran palmist, Chanakya found out that the boy had immense talent who demanded appropriate education. Miracle of Hindu palmistry.
The old man handed over the boy to Chanakya and brought him to Taxila.
Several years later, it was this boy, found in the forest, became the Emperor of the entire ARYAVARTA and ruled the entire area by being in Magadh-Patliputra-today’s Nitish Kumar’s Patna.
So this way I just want to tell my august readers that Chandra Gupta had Nepali blood in his artilleries and veins to which even this Indian writer, Apte, in an indirect manner accepts. Thanks Mr. Apte.
I did my job. If my readers could furnish some more authentic details about what I have written, I will remain ever obliged.
By the way, Chanakya does mention in a book penned by Satyaketu Bidyalankar that Nepal existed even during his time that is some 2500 years ago.
By then Lord Buddha had already taken birth in Nepal’s LUMBINI.
Thus Nepal is not a new nation. We must have been one of the oldest surviving nations in the world. We have every right to rejoice from the facts that have been substantiated even by the Indian scholars who otherwise ignore Nepali identity.
Finally, it was after the name of Mura Devi, the Maurya Empire was established in India as told by Chanakya the great.
Chanakya assured Mura Devi that her son would be the Emperor of entire the then Aryavarta.
Chanakya kept his promise.
